Chicken tikka masala recipe

The Easiest Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe

Chicken tikka masala is a renowned dish featuring marinated, boneless chicken pieces traditionally cooked in a tandoor and then served in a subtly spiced tomato-cream sauce.

The sauce is typically creamy and orange-colored, incorporating ingredients such as tomatoes, cream, and a blend of spices.

The origins of chicken tikka masala are widely debated. One popular account attributes its creation to Ali Ahmed Aslam, a Pakistani–Scottish chef who, in the 1960s, reportedly improvised the dish at his Glasgow restaurant, Shish Mahal, after a customer requested gravy with his chicken tikka.

Another theory suggests that the dish evolved from traditional South Asian recipes, adapted to suit British tastes during the post-war period.

Despite its disputed origins, chicken tikka masala has become a staple in British cuisine and is widely enjoyed around the world. Its rich flavors and comforting creaminess cater to a diverse array of palates, making it a favorite in both casual and fine dining establishments.
